The Administration and Personnel Department interprets management policies to achieve desired set objectives and goals through various ways. The Department has the added function of briefing and coordinating staff as well as disseminating information to the various cadres of personnel.


The Admin/Personnel Department is consequently a link between Staff and Management. It advises management on personnel policies and co-ordinates the application for these policies uniformly throughout all the Departments and Units of the Centre. This practice ensures the effective planning and utilization of manpower resources available at any point.


The mandate of the Department includes;


Recruitment, confirmation of appointment, retirement, discipline, resignation of appointment, dismissal from service, maintenance of staff records, transfer and merger of service, secondment/leave of absence and internal staff deployments


  • · Preparation and up-dating of staff list/Nominal Roll.


  • · Interpretation of government rules, regulations, policies and circulars


  • · Liaising with the Federal Civil Service Commission, Office of Establishments and Management Services and other Government Agencies on establishment matters.


  • · Staff welfare matters


  • · Advising Management and implementing its decision on Staff matters and Federal Government Labour Regulations


  • · Servicing the meetings of Management committee and meetings of Professional Councils and Boards


  • · Maintaining harmonious industrial and labour relations.


  • · Coordinating training activities of Staff;


  • · Annual Retreat;


  • · In-charge of Centre’s Stores;


  • · In charge of annual Budget preparation


The Department also exercises its influence through persuasion and suggestions that lead to the achievement of desired goals. The Department is divided into 2 Divisions to include:


Personnel Management


The Division of Personnel Management is charged with the responsibility of coordinating the internal administration of the National Centre for Women Development.


The Personnel Management Division is structured as follows:

Training Section:


The Section organizes and conducts In-house Training and recommends Staff to attend trainings/refresher courses so as to enhance maximum output and staff productivity.


Staff Welfare Section:


Deals with all welfare issues that affect staff including sporting activities, care for the sick and the dead etc.
